Mr. Coots is a passionate, creative and dynamic individual. He is a second generation insurance agent who has been in the industry for over 18 years in various different roles. As the Director of Business Development for JLS Sales Academy he focuses on partnering with agents, agencies, carriers and marketing partners to help them reach their goals and achieve their dreams.


By utilizing our Twenty Six Scenarios selling system he shows agents how to change their lives and achieve massive growth in their business. As he often says, "I spent years working and learning the business 'the hard way' because I didn't know, what I didn't know." Now he is able to share that same knowledge and experience with agents across the country and participate in their journey to success.


In 2014 Mr. Coots found a friend, coach, mentor and future business partner in Mr. Smith. That single connection was worth more to him than any other resource, training or partnership he had ever had in the industry. Mr. Coots and Mr. Smith initially met through an employee but it wasn't until they spent several days at an insurance carriers' partner summit in New Orleans, Louisiana that they began to think about how they could work together.

Mr. Smith was just beginning to formulate how he could begin bringing JLS Sales Academy to life. After seeing his work ethic and realizing that they both shared the same passion and drive for the industry Jerry asked Matt if he would be willing to join him on the journey of a lifetime. Something that would change the insurance world forever. Matt instantly agreed and as they say, the rest is history, within days they began planning the best way to build what has become THE Academy for agents!
